Who We Are

Welcome to FiddleHill Vineyard, nestled in the heart of beautiful Vernon, BC. Our vineyard is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges of grape cultivation in our region, particularly the grape shortages caused by cold winters. Here, amidst picturesque views of Okanagan Lake and surrounded by lush orchards, we cultivate a diverse selection of grapes that thrive in our challenging conditions.

FiddleHill Vineyard is dedicated to cultivating two grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Marquette. Both are well-suited to our region's climate, allowing us to focus on achieving high yields and exceptional quality. Our south-facing, gently rolling hills create an ideal microclimate, benefiting from ample sunlight and optimal drainage, while our soil  base enhances flavour development and grape quality. As a new and up-and-coming vineyard, we have planting scheduled for this spring, with our first yield expected in 2028, marking an exciting new chapter in the Okanagan wine scene.

At FiddleHill, we are passionate about enhancing the agricultural landscape and preserving the stunning farmland of our community. Our initial focus is on producing exceptional grapes for local wineries, with ambitious plans to expand into wine production in the future. Eventually, we aim to create a welcoming tasting room where visitors can indulge in our wines while soaking in the breathtaking scenery.

Our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship is at the forefront of our operations. We plan to integrate solar energy, implement a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation, and adopt organic and minimal intervention practices. By using energy-efficient equipment, managing waste responsibly, and enhancing vineyard biodiversity, we aim to minimize our environmental impact while creating a thriving ecosystem. Additionally, we are exploring sustainable packaging options and engaging with the local community through educational initiatives and workshops.

Our vineyard gets its name from the playful calls of the local pheasants that grace our grounds, reminiscent of a fiddler's tune—a delightful nod to the rich natural beauty surrounding us.  We were inspired by the playful calls of the local pheasants that wander around our vineyard. Their sounds remind us of someone trying to play a fiddle—a little of off-key and full of character! This quirky association really captures the cheerful and lively atmosphere we love here. FiddleHill isn't just a name; it’s a nod to the beautiful, carefree spirit of the Okanagan Valley, and it perfectly represents our passion for growing top-notch grapes in a setting that invites creativity and good times.
